  1. First of all, thanks to everyone who has translated Typeface. If your
  2. language is not here, and you would like to do the translation, you can
  3. easily make a suitable catalog file.

  5. To create a language catalog for Typeface, you will first need the program
  6. "FlexCat", available from Aminet. FlexCat was used to generate the
  7. localized source for Typeface.
  8.  
  9. To make a catalog, you need to generate a catalog translation file for your
  10. language from the supplied catalog description file, "Typeface.cd". For
  11. example:
  12.  
  13.     FlexCat Typeface.cd NEWCTFILE=Typeface.ct
  14.  
  15. This will generate a catalog translation file called "Typeface.ct". Load
  16. this file into your editor, and where it says "##language", add the
  17. language of the translation, e.g.:
  18.  
  19.     ##language deutsch
  20.  
  21. for a german catalog. Below you will find a description of all the texts
  22. which can be localized. For example, the first is the string "Continue":
  23.  
  24.     ; Continue operation choice.    <- A comment.
  25.     msgContinue            <- The identifier-don't change it!
  26.     CONTINUE            <- Space for translation
  27.     ;Continue            <- English text for reference

  29. Fill in the translation for all the strings (shown in the above example by
  30. the capitalized text), then run FlexCat again to generate the catalog, for
  31. example:

  33.     FlexCat Typeface.cd Typeface.ct CATALOG=Typeface.catalog

  35. The file Typeface.catalog can now be used by moving it to the appropriate
  36. location; for example for german, this would be
  37.  
  38.     LOCALE:catalogs/deutsch/Typeface.catalog
  39.
